    Fresh, Filtered Water:

Long-lasting filter is NSF certified to put cleaner, healthier water within reach by reducing lead and other harmful contaminants. Filters with lead-reduction capabilities are not standard and are rarely found on refrigerators with water dispensers. Water purchased in plastic bottles is susceptible to chemical leaching over time, altering the taste. Stainless filter box and remote filter are included and optional for install.

    Filter Status Lights:

Colorful lights indicate when the filter needs to be changed, so users always know they are drinking filtered water. Residential models have a 750-gallon filter. Commercial models have a 3,000-gallon filter.

    Chic Styling:

Sleek glass front with brushed stainless steel alcove looks great in any room. Intuitive alcove lighting brightens when dispensing water. Brushed stainless steel filter box is included with select models.

    Sensor Activated:

Hands-free filling with automatic timed shut off to help prevent accidental spills and messes.

    Safety Lock:

Optional setting prevents unsupervised use. Idea for homes or commercial spaces where children are present.

    Bottles Saved:

Backlit LED Green Ticker™ counts the number of 20 oz. disposable single-use plastic bottles served without the plastic bottle waste.

    Integrated Design:

Fits within the width and depth of two wall studs near water and electric. Includes drip tray with optional drain connection. Designed for new or existing construction. Professional installation is recommended.

The face of the unit is stainless steel and tempered glass, making it resistant to scratches.

What water temperature options are offered?

There are ambient models and remote chilled model. Hot water is currently unavailable on ezH2O Liv.

Does this unit only fill water bottles?

Our filtered water dispensers are made for all the living you do – from filling drinking glasses and coffee makers, to watering cans for plants, pet bowls and personal humidifiers.

What type of drain is included?

If you choose to install the unit with a drain, a fitting is included to attach to a 1-1/4″ waste trap. Professional installation is recommended. The unit can also be installed with a drip tray instead of a drain.

How often should I clean the unit? What products should I use?

For cleaning, we recommend a mild glass cleaner, mild dish soap and a microfiber cloth for the tempered glass. Please see Care and Cleaning guide.

What kind of filter is used in the ezH2O Liv models? What does the filter remove from the water?

Our WaterSentry® filter is a carbon block filter with a polypropylene prefilter that is rated to NSF 42 and 53 for lead, class 1 particulate, chlorine, taste and odor reduction. The residential filter is rated for 750 gallons and the commercial filter is rated to 3,000 gallons.

How long does a filter last?

For residential models, we recommend replaying the filter every 750 gallons or one year after installation. For commercial models, we recommend replacing the filter every 3,000 gallons or one year after installation.

What do the lights mean on the built-in filtered water dispenser? How do I know if the water is safe to drink?

The LED lights on the built-in filtered water dispenser indicate the filter status.

    Left indicator light:
This light shows the filter is functioning correctly and has used less than 65% of its capacity.

    Middle blue light:
This light shows the filter has reached 66% of its life and will need to be changed soon. When this indicator light comes on, a replacement filter should be ordered.

    Right red light:
The filter has reached 100% of its usable life and should be replaced immediately. If the red light is blinking the filter is installed incorrectly. A steady blue light indicates the filter is installed properly.

You can order replacement filters here.

How will I know when it’s time for a filter change?

The filter status light turns red.

How do I access the filter?

For ambient models, remove the panel on the front of the filter box. For chilled models, access the filter where the remote chiller was installed.

What tools are needed to change the filter and maintenance this product?

You will need the following: cut-resistant gloves, safety glasses (ANSI z87.1 certified), hex driver, towel, permanent marker and a bucket.

How do I change the filter if I have a filter box?

    1. Begin by putting on cut-resistant gloves and safety glasses. Remove the four screws from the filter box cover using an Allen wrench.
    2. Shut off the water supply inside the filter box using the shut-off valve. Turn the water shut-off valve handle clockwise to the OFF position.
    3. Activate the water dispenser by placing the bucket in the alcove to relieve pressure in the water line.
    4. Shut off the power to the unit at the circuit breaker.
    5. Lift the water line. As you remove the filter, place a towel within the cavity to absorb the water. Twist the filter approximately a half turn counterclockwise until it is disengaged. Remove the filter and quickly hold it upright to prevent it from leaking.
    6. Drain the filter by placing it upside down in the bucket before disposing of it with your everyday trash.
    7. Remove and discard the protective cap from the new filter cartridge.
    8. Write the current date on the label of the new filter cartridge in the space provided.
    9. Attach the filter cartridge by firmly inserting it into the filter head and twisting it a quarter to a half turn clockwise until it is completely seated.
    10. Restore power to the unit at the circuit breaker.
    11. Check the filter status lights. A steady blue light indicates the filter is installed properly. A blinking red light indicates the filter is installed incorrectly. If the light is red, remove the filter and follow steps to reinstall.
    12. Slowly open the water supply valve.
    13. Place a bucket under the spout to activate the fill sensor and dispense at least one gallon of water. This amount of water will bleed any trapped air from the supply line and filter, as well as flush any fine carbon particles from the filter
    14. Check for leaks where the filter meets the filter head.
    15. Reinstall the filter box cover.
    16. Enjoy dispensing fresh, filtered water.

How do I change the filter if I have a remote filter?

    1. Begin by putting on cut-resistant gloves and safety glasses.
    2. Shut off the water supply using the shut-off valve at the filter. Turn the water shut-off handle clockwise to the OFF position.
    3. Twist the filter approximately a half turn counterclockwise until it is disengaged. Drain the filter by placing it upside down in the bucket before disposing of it with your everyday trash.
    4. Write the current date on the label of the new filter cartridge in the space provided.
    5. Remove and discard the protective cap from the new filter cartridge.
    6. Attach the filter cartridge by firmly inserting it into the filter head and twisting it a quarter to a half turn clockwise until it is completely seated.
    7. Restore power to the unit at the circuit breaker.
    8. Check the filter status lights. A steady blue light indicates the filter is installed properly. A blinking red light indicates the filter is installed incorrectly. If the light is red, remove the filter and follow steps to reinstall.
    9. Slowly open the water supply valve.
    10. Place a bucket under the spout to activate the fill sensor and dispense at least one gallon of water. This amount of water will bleed any trapped air from the supply line and filter, as well as flush any fine carbon particles from the filter.
    11. Enjoy dispensing fresh, filtered water.

ezH2O Liv is designed to operate on 20 psi to 100 psi supply line pressure. A pressure above 105 psi will cause damage to the product.

What type of hookups do I need in my home to install this product?

We recommend a 3/8" cold water line with a pressure between 20-100 psi, 120-volt power on a dedicated hospital grade 15a GFCI breaker. If you are installing it with the drained option, you will also need a 1-1/4" waste trap.

    Yes.

What other surfaces can this be installed on?

The unit is designed to fit between two studs with standard 16" on center spacing and with 1/2" wall board thickness. Thicker wall material may interfere with existing hookup holes in the unit.

Does the unit have to be installed into the wall? Is there a freestanding or on-wall option?

Yes, it must be installed or built into the wall. There is no freestanding option. For our complete offerings, visit elkay.com/premium-dispensers.

How far will the unit stick out of the wall?

    Approximately 1-3/4".

What is lead? Where does it come from?

For centuries, lead has been widely used in plumbing systems that transport water. Despite changes in plumbing codes making it illegal to use lead pipes or solder, lead is still found in older pipes, solder and brass fittings in existing plumbing systems. Lead is toxic and continuous exposure to lead can cause a variety of health problems, especially in infants and children. Please visit epa.gov/lead to learn more.

    Do your products contain lead?

No. Our drinking water products have been lead free for more than two decades. They are certified to NSF/ANSI 372 as lead free by the Water Quality Association.

    Do your filters reduce lead?

Select WaterSentry® filtration systems reduce lead to meet the requirements necessary to achieve our NSF/ANSI 53 certification, making the water cleaner and healthier.

How does Elkay test its filters?

Elkay tests and certifies our filters to NSF/ANSI Standard 53.

“NSF/ANSI Standard 53 for Drinking Water Treatment Units is the nationally recognized standard for evaluating and certifying drinking water treatment systems for the reduction of contaminants from drinking water. Water filters are tested and certified to NSF/ANSI 53 to ensure they reduce contaminants, including lead, per the requirements of the standard” (Certified Product Listing, NSF).

What type of maintenance and cleaning is required?

Please see the ezH2O Liv Care and Cleaning video.

What does the bottle counter track?

You can tell how much water is being consumed from data provided by the Green Ticker™ feature on the unit. The Green Ticker counts the number of 20 oz. single-use water bottles saved from waste by using reusable bottles and cups at the ezH2O Liv.

How many ounces of water will be dispensed at a time?

Approximately 16 oz. of water is dispensed at 60 psi water pressure. There is an automatic 20-second shut-off timer.

Does the unit illuminate when being used?

    Yes.

Is the unit hands-free or is there a button for activation?

The unit has an IR sensor, it is not recommended that vessels be used with the unit without the use of at least one hand.

Where is the data tag located on the ezH2O Liv filtered water dispenser?

The serial data tag is located on the inside right wall of the main enclosure, just above the junction box. Use this serial number when contacting Elkay with questions concerning the installation of this product.

Is ezH2O Liv compatible with reverse osmosis water?

The only component that is not compatible with RO water is the copper inlet tube going to the filter. In a chilled unit, simply remove the copper inlet tube and replace with the 3/8 water supply being used from the RO device (plastic or stainless steel). The chiller (ERS11Y) has all stainless steel waterways and is perfect for use with RO systems.

For ambient units, we recommend remote mounting of our filter like the install for a chilled unit. Alternatively, the copper L-shaped inlet tube could be removed from the filter in the filter box and replaced with a suitable stainless steel bent tube or elbow.

The unit will not function properly unless an Elkay filter is used. Regardless of installation method, the RO water will need to also run through the Elkay filter.
